Die construction
Own shop
Dies are of course essential in everything we do. So that nothing is left to chance, Culobel decided early on to design, construct and maintain the required dies itself. It would also have been possible to outsource this task to a specialised tool manufacturer. But our 80 years of experience in this area have taught us that building dies in our own workshop has important benefits.
Flexibility
Our independence from a third-party, whether this is a subcontractor or supplier, allows us to react to changing circumstances in an appropriate manner. This can include the need for a special type of die, adaptations of existing dies, urgent repairs and so on.
Control
In-house die construction allows us to follow the process step-by-step, which makes it possible to influence and adapt the results, whenever it is necessary. In this way we achieve an optimisation of our working procedures and, as a consequence, a reliable and qualitatively better end-result.
In-house know-how
Die construction can not be learned from one day to the next, but after 80 years we may call ourselves experts. Building on the know-how and experience of our company, and with the help of the most modern CAD development tools and hypermodern machines, we keep on striving for improved quality and greater precision.
Cost savings
By building dies within our own organisation, we can not only work more efficiently but we also have development costs tightly under control. Over the years, we have also built up excellent cooperative relationships with the best suppliers, both in Belgium and in the Czech Republic.
